CABLE TV now occupies this barren field.
And the trees were just planted one month before this picture.
The trees are big now, as you can see in the first picture containing my light blue car.
The cable company also enjoyed our broadcast area that was protected, sanctioned, and licensed.
The intire area has a studio license that protects it from interfering radiation. We had more than
a physical location. We had legal rights.

Picture from the intersection of Keefer and SilverBell rds.
My boss, Russ, choose this site because it had an easy "line of site" path to the transmitter site in Cohasset.
Before this site, we were at 4th and Wall st in downtown Chico. I began work at the 4th and Wall location
in Dec of 1969. Unfortunately, the 4th and Wall building was not designed for broadcasting.
This site was designed for broadcast from the start. And the neat thing: we OWNED it!
As you can see in the picture, there are actually two studios here:
The building on the left is KHSL-AM (the AM radio studio); and the building on the right is the KHSL-TV studio.
This location provided good STL paths to all of our necessary locations.
I am assuming old pictures taken from a public view, such as this one, are permitted.
I have deleted all the rest.
