My favorite places Horseshoe Lake Chico California

Most would not consider this lake beautiful.
But it is a natural setting and that alone makes it beautiful.
Despite first impressions, this area is full of life and quite accessable to all.
Accessability brings joggers, sightseers, and dog walkers.
Small children run, feel, and touch. Large dogs splash into the water after a thrown stick.
The land accommodates varied interests.
But at the same time is stressed with divergent activities. Preservation is sacrificed
for accessability.
This leads to the occasional dead duck or fish carcass.
In some cases, coyotes, possums, and racoons erase evidence of man by morning.
Compromise is an unavoidable price.

Horseshoe Lake may be considered a reservoir or "pond" because it is man made. Natural runoff has always sustained
this pond intill approximately November. Now the lake has additional water piped in during
September, October, and possibly November (if required).
You can see the piped water running down hill in such a man made stream to the lakes edge.

Horseshoe Lake
It was ferociously windy this day, and in some places the waves would splash over the banks.
Exciting actually;
To have pleasant and active weather...
The pouch and I enjoyed a great time with lots of running.
