153 is the sum of all the integers from 1 to 17 (which is prime).

Jhn 21:11 Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes,
an hundred and fifty and three:
and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.
His disciples caught 153 fish
153 fishes (3 x 51) the disciples caught in John 21. Peter had denied Jesus three times.
When you add consecutive numbers from one to 17 (1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10+11+12+13+14+15+16+17) you get 153, as in fish cought, on the first side of the boat. 17=A new job, begining of life.

Most likely the 51 for repentance comes from the Jubilee Year (50th).
